On your mark, get set, go!
The Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology took to the start line for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge 3.5 mile road race. The race is a way for Capital Region companies to promote health and fitness opportunities in the workplace, while providing a sense of camaraderie among employees. It is the largest road race between Utica and New York City!
Orlo staff and students were up to the challenge this year and coached each other leading up to and during the race. Everyone ran, jogged and walked at their own pace. It was not a competition, but rather a team-building event! Other runners doted on our “Running With Scissors” shirts, while some in excitement shouted, “I just got my hair done there!”. With the music pumping and the high energy among everyone it was hard not to dance while you ran. As runners cut corners, Taylor Van Winkler, a current student stated, “We don’t cut corners, we cut hair!”, as she rounded the bend. It was a fun run and The Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology knows this will not be their last race! Be prepared to see us again!
Pictured is some of the team before the race. Can you tell we are all excited? Check out our fun team shirts! And of course we had to get a sneaker shot!
