Even in short walking distance, you’ll find popular lunch spots like Pepper Jack’s, and on tough mornings, you can fuel up right around the corner at Dunkin Donuts. Branching out, you’ll find many hidden gems in the area, like New World Bistro on Delaware Avenue, and popular favorites like The Cheesecake Factory in Colonie Center. Entertainment
The Capital Region is home to a variety of festivals and concerts all year long. From Tulip Fest in the spring to Pearl Palooza in the fall, there’s always something to look forward to. Even in the winter, you can get out and go ice-skating at Empire State Plaza or visit the nearby Adirondacks for many outdoor activities! Many big names come to perform in the area and surrounding local venues. Catch shows at Proctor’s or the Palace Theatre, or join your friends for a night out on Lark Street.
Shopping
The Capital Region offers premier shopping at Crossgates Mall and Colonie Center, both less than five miles from our school. Wolf Road, Central Ave and Western Ave provide all the stores you need for everyday necessities.
Transportation
Capital District Transit Authority (CDTA) provides an easy and inexpensive route system to get you where you need to go. Buses connect the entire region, including services extending north to Saratoga. Orlo is located four miles from the Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak rail station and six miles from the Albany International Airport.
